Size

Original: 58 mT - Size: .75 inches is the opening where your finger rests.

XL: 60 mT - Size: 1.1 inch opening where your finger rests.

We measure the magnetic field (in millitesla or mT) within the horseshoe magnet's U-shaped interior, which is responsible for the velvet nail effect. Unlike pull force (the force required to separate the magnet from metal, measured at the magnet's ends), our measurements focus on the relevant magnetic field strength for creating this effect. Although the XL features significantly stronger magnets, the resulting magnetic effect is similar due to the wider field it covers.

How To Steps

Steps with Magnetic Polish:

1) Apply 1-2 layers of magnetic polish to get full opacity on all 10 nails.
2) Apply the last layer of polish to one nail and immediately place finger in The Velveteen Magnet. Leave in magnet for 30-60 seconds. Continue for each nail.
3) Apply topcoat and place your finger in The Velveteen Magnet for 30-60 seconds.
4) Enjoy beautiful velvet mani!!!!

Steps with Crystal Cat Eye Gel:

1) Place The Velveteen Magnet in your lamp
2) Apply gel, place finger in The Velveteen Magnet and cure.
3) Topcoat as normal and enjoy!

I bought this in Amethyst Tide color, and it really looks just like the pictures!! So beautiful and shiny. The smaller size works well for me. It does the velvet and reverse velvet styles perfectly!! And it looks really cute with my other nail polish supplies.

Great Product, Color Difference

The magnet itself works great, no issues. I was very sad to see the color looked nothing like the picture, but after reading the disclaimers I see this is something that happens.

Regarding the color, we’re sorry to hear you were disappointed with the 'Spellbound' shift. As we mentioned in our email follow-up on 2/24, the nature of dual-color 3D printing means the placement of purple to black can vary between every single print.
We had reached out to request a few photos or a video in natural lighting so we could verify if there was a genuine error or just a unique color distribution, but we never heard back! Our offer still stands—if you’d like us to take a look, please feel free to reply to our last email with those images.

Just what I was looking for

I have been searching and searching for these U-shaped or horseshoe magnets and they were all really expensive or had crazy wait times. I found SJ3 Designs through a random YouTube short. Found the velveteen magnets and said, yep, that’s what I’m looking for. Love the size and color options. They’re super lightweight yet have a really strong pull to get the desired velvet nail effect. I got one in each size and I’m very happy with them.

works great for velvet style

I was mostly happy with this magnet. it's easy to use, light, and makes a great velvet style on my nails. I bought this magnet because I wanted to put a bar magnet over it to make a swoopy magnet style but it just simply didn't work. I'm not sure if the polarity of the two magnets were facing the same way so it repelled the bar magnet in a way that I couldn't use the bar magnet in the way I wanted.
